There Is Always Hope!

There is always hope! We understand that there are times in life where you just need a helping hand. We want to come alongside you to encourage you with Biblical truth that will make a lasting impact.

We believe that God has given us all we need to know Him and to live in a way that is pleasing to Him.  All our difficulties may not evaporate.  However, when a person willingly submits to God’s instructions and clings to his promises there is hope and help.

Common Issues We Help With

Our experienced counselors are able to help people through a variety of issues. Some of the more common problems we routinely help people through include:
  • Those struggling in their marriage
  • Parents in raising children
  • Those dealing with sexual sin
  • Those struggling with their emotions (e.g. depression , worry, anxiety, or anger).
  • Regardless of the issue you bring to us, we believe that God’s Word (the Bible) is sufficient to answer any of life’s problems and questions.

Qualified Counselors

All of our counselors, whether they are pastors or laypersons, go through a rigorous Biblical counseling training program and have experience helping people through similar issues to your own.

What to Expect

After you have submitted a Counseling Request Form, we will contact you within the next two weeks to schedule your appointment. Most counseling sessions take between 1 to 1.5 hours. Here’s what you can expect during that time:

Privacy and Care

Our staff will care for you and treat you with respect. Everything will be held in strict confidence except where, in the counselor’s judgment, there is a Biblical requirement to involve others (e.g. criminal activity).

Encouragement toward Christ-likeness

Our staff will encourage you in your successes and exhort you to think and behave in a way that pleases Jesus Christ.

Weekly Homework

We’ll assign you homework to take home between your weekly counseling sessions. The assignments are meant to encourage lasting change.

Give Us Some Time

Habits are not developed overnight, and new habits will take time to develop. In most cases, we ask individuals to commit to regular counseling appointments for a period of 3 to 4 months.

Waiting List

If appointment times are full, you may be placed on a waiting list.  Rest assured we will get you on our schedule as soon as possible.

Cost

There is no fee for our biblical counseling services. The Paradise Valley Community Church and our counselors volunteer their time.
